NOTES ON THE MEETING OF LLANGYBI FAWR COMMUNITY COUNCIL HELD AT LLANGYBI VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2008
MATTERS ARISING
a. A donation of £50.00, in memory of Anita Samuel, the previous Clerk, was sent to the Funeral Directors to be forwarded to St. David’s Foundation.
b. Cllr. Backhouse received a letter from MCC approving the application for a grant. The monies will be used to print leaflets to publicise the footpath walks.
c. There is to be a Cancer Coffee Morning at the Village Hall on the 26th September.
d. A Chairman is yet to be appointed for the Village Hall Committee.
PLANNING APPLICATIONS
a. DC/2008/00973 – Land adjacent to Woodland Bungalow – Timber building for unwell dogs to avoid cross contamination – Cllr. Love to send to Planning Officer Ann Yeardsley and Head of Planning David Swanson the Community Council’s objections and decision to Refuse the application.
b. DC/2008/01013 – Rock Cottage, Llangybi – New vehicular access, parking and turning area - Approve The Community Council is concerned that this project would incur large excavation works and would need a great deal of involvement from the Highways Department.
c. DC/2008/00828 – Clawddu Parc Farm, Llangybi - Two storey and single storey extensions to farmhouse, conversion of barns to 6 Holiday lets. Addition of building to accommodate swimming pool. Conversion of barn to home office. Relocation of Dutch barn. Re-clad - Cllr. Love to send to the Planning Department the Community Council’s objections and decision to strongly recommend Refusing the application.
LOCAL MATTERS
a. Benches and tables – Cllr. Greenland has been contacted for wording on the Llandegfedd bench. Concrete bases are needed at Llangybi so that the furniture can be screwed down. The expectation is for completion within the next fortnight. One bench will be placed in Coed-y-Paen and three in Llangybi as there was a problem with rights for the second bench in Coed-y-Paen. There is a possibility of placing another on Ton Road.
b. St. Cybi’s Well – As it is almost the anniversary of the Well’s official opening Cllr. Love will do some clearing up in the immediate area.
c. Footpath from St. Cybi Avenue to the top has serious drainage problems.
d. Cllr. Greenland stated that the Llandegfedd Notice Boards need maintaining.
e. Cllr. Rogers asked for a larger Notice Board in Coed-y-Paen.
f. Cllr. Rogers informed the Meeting that the Coed-y-Paen Village Sign is discoloured.
