SUMMARY of the meeting
held in Llangybi Village Hall Tuesday 21st December 2010
Matters Arising
-
Amenity land near play area – discussion for use and legal documents of
purchase: Cllr Love confirmed all documents were securely held with the
Solicitor. Cllr Cameron noted there had been 2 more residents showing an
interest in an allotment. The Council considered its use and decided to
consider the formation of an Allotment Association in the New Year. In the
meantime the area is to be sprayed with weed killer and ploughed. The ground
is unlikely to be ready before autumn 2011.
-
Update on meeting with Jenny Lewis on Highways issues: the meeting was
confirmed a success with Jenny taking photographs of the problem areas,
including the potholes on Ton
Road. The problem verge in Llandegveth was
cleared the very next day.
-
Speeding initiative with other Community Councils: awaiting response
-
Usk Sorting Office – Clerk informed the meeting of the support in opposition
to this from David Davies MP and Nick Ramsey MP. Outcome awaited
-
Request for financial support for trip to Mexico – Butler: Council discussed
the request at length and decided in principle it would like to support Mr
Butler. Council asked the Clerk to write to Mr Butler and propose he hire
the Village Hall for a fundraising event, the cost of hire will be borne by
the Council. Further Mr Butler may wish to paint the telephone boxes in
Llandegveth in return for some remuneration. Council would like to be kept
informed of Mr Butler’s efforts and initiatives.
-
Local Development Plan update: Site 0053 has been added to the consultation
list. Representations to be provided by 4th February 2011.
Details to be posted on the Notice board.

Planning Applications
-
DC/2010/00381 Spring Cottage, Treherbert Road: Refurbishment of cottage

boundary fence - APPROVED
-

large development. Council has only ever been consulted on the access

no written justification. REFUSED

construction of hard standing - APPROVE subject to bollards being put in
place at the bottom of the hill and a safer walking environment. Traffic
