Dorothy was first elected 16years ago to represent the Coed-Y-Paen ward on the Llangybi Community Council.

Having resided in the area in the same house for 36 years, she offered herself for election in order to represent the views of friends and neighbours when Coed-Y-Paen was on the council agenda.

Her main interests have centred around environmental, planning, highways and road safety issues.

Prior to 1986 when the Cwmbran Developement Corporation was moved to Torfaen, Dorothy was employed as the housing welfare officer for the corporation.
