WE WANT YOU BACK!

Over the past few years, a lot of customers in the village and surrounding communities got out of the habit of using the Village shop, for a variety of reasons. PLEASE, we need you back! You changed your habits once before, all we're asking is for you to change again. When you get time, pop in, have a coffee and chat with us, see what we stock and well do our utmost to satisfy your needs.
   
   
   
   
 

 

  

 

Opening Times

The Shop

Monday - Friday   8.00am - 7.00pm

Saturday  8.30am - 6.00pm 

Sunday   9.00am - 12.00pm

 

The Post office

Monday-Saturday 9.00am - 5.30pm      

Sun   Closed

 

Many customers have indicated they would use the shop on their way home from work if we were open longer. For the next three months we will trial opening until 7.30 pm Monday to Friday.

 

  

SHOP IMPROVEMENTS

Over the last year we have made a number of improvements to the shop with the new floor and fridge/freezers, enabling us to improve the quality and choice of stock available.

We felt these improvements were needed despite the considerable investment required. We have plans to make further improvements over the coming year, but can only do so with your custom and support.

A few £'s spent each week in the village shop rather than the supermarkets will mean we are further improve the shop and start to introduce discount offers on your purchases.

  
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

POST OFFICE & NATIONAL LOTTERY

The amount of custom through the Post Office is below average for our type of locality and over the coming year we have to promote more use of the Post Office. The Government subsidy is up for review in 2008 and if business stays at it's present level, the Post Office may close. Please think of us for your foreign currency, free banking. savings and investments etc.

Currently we are a protected location for the National Lottery, but this can change if throughput doesn’t improve or if the operator changes in the future. Whenever possible, please use the Post Office and National Lottery (particularly for syndicates), we would extremely grateful.

 

    

 

SUPERMARKETS - CAN WE COMPETE?

We don't expect you to do all your weekly shop with us, but if you just did 5-10% in the Village store it would make a big difference and you may be surprised how competitive some of our prices are. Where we do compete is in our unsurpassable service to our customers and in this day and age we offer a rare personal service. Please come down to the village shop, buy some goods and have a chat ( a bit of gossip)

Ask yourself if the supermarkets can provide the following:

  • Deliver your daily papers!

  • Sell tickets for the Church and Community Hall events.

  • Deliver just 1 pint of milk to a local customer in need.

  • Serve when closed!

  • Organise local events for the kids.
